Privacy Policy
Qovox AI is a compiler that compresses machine-learning models and packages them to run in the browser through WebAssembly. This policy explains what we collect when you use it, why, and what control you have.
1. Who we are
Qovox AI is operated by Qovox, a Texas C-corporation ("Qovox", "we", "us"). For the purposes of this policy, Qovox is the controller of the personal data described below.
2. Data we collect
Account data you give us
| Data | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Full name | To identify your account and personalize the product. |
| Username | To give your account a unique public handle. Usernames are reserved so no two accounts share one. |
| Email address | To create your account, send confirmation codes and password-reset links, and contact you about your account. |
| Password | Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your password in readable form. |
| Role / field of use | To understand who uses Qovox AI and prioritize features. |
| How you heard about us | To understand which channels reach developers. |
Data from Google or GitHub sign-in
If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive the basic profile information those providers share with us, such as your name, email address and profile picture, plus a provider account identifier. We do not receive your Google or GitHub password, and we do not access your repositories, contacts or files.
Account and usage records
- Your plan, credit balance and account creation and verification timestamps.
- Records of compile jobs you run: job status, timestamps, model format and size, chosen quantization, credits consumed, and the compression metrics we generate.
- A temporary email confirmation code. We store only a one-way hash of the code, and it expires after 10 minutes.
Technical data
Like most web services, our infrastructure processes your IP address, browser type and version, device information and request logs, used to operate, secure and debug the service.
Payment data
When paid plans or per-model exports are available, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of the transaction and limited billing details, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
3. Uploaded models
Your models are yours. Models you upload for compression are used only to run your compile job. We do not share them, sell them, publish them, or use them to train our own or anyone else's models.
- Processing. Uploaded ONNX or PyTorch files are processed by our optimization engine solely to produce your output package (a WebAssembly module, a JavaScript wrapper and an optimization report).
- Deletion. Uploaded source models and intermediate files are deleted automatically after processing, according to our storage policy. Your output package remains available for download for a limited window and is then deleted as well.
- Access. Access to model files is restricted to the automated systems that process them. Our staff do not open uploaded models unless you ask us to, for example to debug a failed job, or where required to investigate abuse or comply with law.
- Your responsibility. Only upload models you have the right to use and process. Do not include personal data in model files unless you are entitled to.
4. How we use data
- To provide, operate and secure Qovox AI, including authentication, compile jobs and credit accounting.
- To verify your email and to send transactional messages, such as confirmation codes, password resets and important account or policy notices.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and violations of our Terms & Conditions.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve performance, reliability and features.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
5. Sharing and processors
We share data only with service providers that help us run Qovox AI, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) for sign-in, account storage and email delivery of confirmation codes.
- Google and GitHub when you choose to sign in with them.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that run our website and compile servers.
- Payment processors, once paid plans are active.
We may also disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any material change in how your data is handled.
6. Retention and deletion
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account profile | For as long as your account is active, then deleted after you request account deletion, except where we must keep limited records by law. |
| Confirmation codes | Removed after successful confirmation and expire automatically after 10 minutes. |
| Uploaded models and intermediate files | Deleted automatically after processing, per our storage policy. |
| Output packages | Available for a limited download window, then deleted. |
| Job and credit records | Kept while your account is active to show your history and prevent billing disputes. |
| Security and server logs | Kept for a limited period for security and debugging, then deleted or anonymized. |
To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below. Reserved usernames are released when the account is deleted.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), managed authentication, and access rules that limit each account to its own records. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Choose a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can update most account details from your dashboard. For anything else, or to exercise any of these rights, contact us. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Cookies and local storage
Qovox AI uses only what it needs to work: authentication state kept by Firebase in your browser, and local storage for preferences such as your light or dark theme. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings, which will sign you out.
10. International transfers
Qovox is based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
11. Children
Qovox AI is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the product before the changes take effect.
